Ugears launches the dinosaur robot collection with the Tyrannosaurus Rex. This mechanical wooden DIY model of a walking tyrannosaurus is powered by a metal spring, providing movement through a reduced gear that rotates the axle, making it move its legs. An intelligent joint system allows it to walk on its two legs—the first robot to achieve this in Ugears' collection.
Tyrannosaurs had the largest teeth of any carnivorous dinosaur, capable of tearing flesh and crushing bones. They had developed senses of smell and excellent vision. They were top predators of the late Cretaceous period, moving through environments such as bays and semi-arid plains. Their giant hind legs made them effective walkers, capable of chasing prey over long distances.
This modern wooden model is a scale of a fully developed Tyrannosaurus Rex. The tip of the tail hides the movement key. Remove the key and place it in the dinosaur's mechanism. Turn the on/off switch and rotate the gear to move the leg. The model measures 14.8 x 5.8 x 3.9 inches (37.5 x 14.7 x 10 cm) with 249 components and an estimated assembly time of 8 hours.
