The Boss NS-1X pedal is a noise gate for electric guitar and electric bass. It uses MDP technology for natural noise reduction and features an LED indicator for noise reduction. The Comp, Threshold, Decay, and Mode controls adjust the operating parameters, with Suppressor and Mute options.

The Send/Return jacks allow you to connect drive pedals, while the DC output can power other pedals. The footswitch engages and bypasses the effect. It runs on a 9 V battery or a 9 V DC adapter, which is not included.
