Description & Specifications

The metal osteotheca in ivory or reliquary is a box or case that stores the bones of the deceased after their exhumation. Once the process is complete, it is either kept in the ossuary of the cemetery or placed on the lower left side of the grave, next to the relative, to be together in the afterlife. The bones are washed with wine and water with the appropriate ritual in the cemetery church and are carefully placed in white cloth before being put into the reliquary. The preservation of the bones is carried out at the request of the relatives and under the responsibility of the cemetery service.

The osteotheca is handmade, with a permanent and corrosion-resistant electrostatic paint finish. It has a space for a photo and a cross on the front. The metal sheet is 5 millimeters thick and very durable. The placement of the bones in the osteotheca is an important ritual, with the priest chanting the memorial prayer.
