The ACES Gn electronic anode uses a titanium probe and replaces magnesium anodes in metal water heaters with a capacity of 100–800 litres. It provides active cathodic protection using an externally applied electric current to protect the water heater walls from corrosion. The titanium probe does not corrode and leaves no residue in the tank. The anode requires no maintenance, replacement or repair, and consumes 10–20 kWh per year.
