Italian Bole Paste, Yellow, 750 ml

High-quality preparation bole paste from the Italian manufacturer Giusto Manetti. Yellow clay paste, ideal for preparing surfaces for icon painting and gilding. Recommended for wooden surfaces.

  • Composition: Italian clay bole paste (Italian Bole Paste)
  • Color: Yellow
  • Store in a cool, dry place in its closed container, away from sunlight and heat
  • Ideal storage conditions: 15–25°C with humidity below 50%
  • Coverage: 10–12 m²/kg
  • Packaging: 750 ml plastic container (0.8 kg)

Instructions for use:

The application surface must be completely clean and smooth. The bole contains no adhesive, so one must be added to improve adhesion. We recommend diluting the material at a 1:1 ratio with a mixture of 90% water and 10% rabbit-skin glue. Once the mixture is thoroughly combined and ready, it can be applied with a brush. Gold leaf can be applied while the bole is still damp. After application, the bole takes approximately 2 hours to dry.

Mixing ratios, quantities, and drying times may vary. We recommend applying the product according to the individual artist’s preferences and techniques, after testing the material.
