Adhesive and base coating for FIXOTHERM external thermal insulation systems White (STH-ETICS), 25kg/Bag

Properties:
The FIXOTHERM is a pre-mixed cement mortar, fiber-reinforced, enhanced with polymers and other processing additives. It is applied in external thermal insulation systems (thermal facades) with a dual function:

• As an adhesive material for thermal insulation boards on the external wall.
• As a base coating over the thermal insulation boards with embedded fiberglass reinforcement.

As thermal insulation materials, expanded polystyrene (EPS), mineral wool (MW), and extruded polystyrene (XPS) boards can be used. FIXOTHERM is characterized by high adhesive strength, low water absorption, and high vapor permeability.

Usage Instructions:

Substrate: Suitable substrates for the application of FIXOTHERM include concrete surfaces, masonry, and lime-cement plasters, as long as they are durable, clean, and dry. Loose materials, crusts from old paints or flaking plasters, fungi, and moss should be removed mechanically. Any cracks or depressions should be smoothed with FIXOTHERM.

External Conditions: The ambient and substrate temperature during the application of FIXOTHERM must range between +5°C and +35°C. It is essential to protect the fresh material during the drying phase.

Mixing:
For each 25 kg bag of FIXOTHERM, approximately 7 L of water is required. The material is added to the water gradually while stirring until the mixture achieves proper homogeneity without lumps. A low-speed electric mixer (up to 600 rpm) should be used.

Application of Adhesive:
The method of applying the adhesive depends on the type and size of the thermal insulation boards and primarily on the flatness of the substrate.

• For rigid boards (EPS, XPS), the adhesive is applied with a trowel in the form of a continuous perimeter cord approximately 5 cm wide and 2 cm high.
• On walls with good flatness, the adhesive can be applied with a notched trowel over the entire surface of the board.
• For mineral wool boards, a thin layer acting as a primer should precede the final application of the adhesive.
