  • I have three from another well-known company and I started replacing them with IMOU Cruiser 5MP.
Incredible camera, easy software, and it holds up. I already have four here for 30 months and I will increase them.

Bad camera, I wouldn't buy it again even for 50 euros.
Firstly, the construction is so poor that the camera shakes with a moderate wind, and all videos come out shaky. If it's set for motion detection, it keeps recording/sending notifications because the entire camera moves.
The automatic tracking when detecting motion only moves left-right or up-down, with no diagonal movement option. Depending on its placement, it can't track the target quickly enough and ends up looking into space or the opposite direction because, for example, a car or a person passed in front of the camera faster than it can turn.
At night, it doesn't detect faces at all; people pass by, and it 'sleeps.' If I turn off night vision and leave it in simple color mode, it detects passing cars and people more easily, but the lens causes crazy reflections and lens flares due to night lighting, so it tracks whatever it wants. For example, if a car passes to the right, the lens flare will move left, so 90% of the time, the camera will decide to follow the flare in the opposite direction!
The only solution is to completely disable tracking and place the camera in a spot where it covers an area as a fixed camera.
At least the image quality during the day is excellent, and surprisingly, two street lamps are enough for decent color recording at night (IR was permanently disabled for the reasons mentioned above).
Another problem is that there's no way to access the full camera menu through any browser; the IP responds to PING but doesn't open the menu. I even tried a vintage 15-year-old laptop with the proper orthodox Internet Explorer, but no menu.
So the only settings one can make are the 5-6 allowed by the Imou app for Android.
There were 2-3 firmware updates, but they solved absolutely nothing, a shame, wasted money!

Update: After 8 months of use, one of the two cameras got water inside the lens and was returned under warranty.
The model is no longer available, and a tried and trusted solution was chosen by replacing it with an older model with similar features that works OK.
    Stay away!
