You buy Max + Molly collars primarily for the design, and once you receive them you also see the quality. You can find others at half the price from other brands, but there are also options that cost several times more, over €100.

This is the fourth one we've bought, different designs because we're stylish (the dog + her mom), we change them after every bath and straight into the washing machine (30°C). The first one is already a year old and remains flawless.
As for the app, it works perfectly for us (on two iPhones + one Android).
The tag, the size of a dime, has a QR code (=link + code). From the app, you scan and enter your dog's and your own details. It supports multiple pets / multiple tags per pet. If scanned from any other phone, it displays the information you've chosen to show and notifies you that it was scanned by a third party.
It's kind of like the microchip, except you don't have to go to a vet with the right scanner.
Of course, you hope you'll never need this, or the ID, or the airtag..
