Interplast produces a series of components made of Random polypropylene (type 3) according to DIN 16962. The Aqua-plus components are available in diameters ranging from 20 mm to 160 mm and are designed to meet the specifications of pressure series PN 25, while standard polypropylene components are manufactured according to pressure series PN 20.
The symbols PN 20 and PN 25 correspond to two fundamental parameters, pressure strength and the resulting service life. In terms of pressure testing, PN 25 means that during a 1-hour test period, the tested elements are exposed to a pressure of 80 atmospheres at a temperature of 20°C. For the PN 20 series, the same test is conducted at a level of 64 atmospheres.
The local resistance coefficient (z]) of the 90° angle for standard PN 20 components is 1.2 while for PN 25 components it is 0.9, reduced by 25%.
