The electric guitar Omen by Schecter, has two additional bass (low) strings, tuned to B and F#, which allow for a "heavier" and "fuller" sound without needing to change the tuning. For this reason, 8-string guitars are preferred by players in the metal genre. Additionally, these extra strings result in an increase in the length and width of the fretboard, making the instrument slightly more challenging to play. Its pickups are passive, which consist only of the coil that "translates" the movement of the strings into an electric signal. This type of pickups is widely used and the most common compared to others.

The arrangement of the pickups equipped on the guitar Omen is HH, which describes the number, position, and type of the pickups. Specifically, the combination of the letters H and S stands for humbucker and single, respectively. For example, if we have an HSS pickup configuration, then the guitar has 1 Humbucker pickup and 2 Single coil pickups. Additionally, the order of the letters determines the position of the pickups, with the first letter representing the bridge position, the last letter representing the neck position, and the middle letter, if present, indicating the middle position. However, if the configuration has only one letter, then the pickup is usually placed in either the bridge or neck position.

Finally, the bridge of Schecter Omen is fixed. The bridge, or saddle, is the part where the strings start from the body of the instrument and go towards the tuning keys. The strings simply pass through the metallic frame that resembles a bridge, which is screwed onto the body. Changing strings is simple and quick, and does not require any special attention.
