Kokkalis Alexandros - Thracian Lyre
This book is the result of many years of involvement with the Thracian lyre, concerning its learning, teaching, construction, and history. It is a musical instrument with three strings.
The songs it represents are short in length. It is difficult to play anything beyond Thracian music. Nevertheless, Thracian music has such richness in rhythms, melodies, embellishments, and bowing techniques that it rewards you immensely.
Love for this musical instrument and the fact that it has been marginalized motivated me to evolve it further, taking on the responsibility to advance the Thracian lyre. Thus, this book is a step forward so that future generations can find the foundations that we could not.
