Description

Magnat is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and on this occasion presents a special edition of the MTT 990 turntable. It differs from the "regular" MTT 990 not only in its appearance with its elegant, glossy gray finish, but also with a new, better pickup.

The MTT 990 has been an absolute favorite for three years now. It is no wonder, as it combines excellent technology, such as direct drive and the selected scanning system, into a perfect product that sets standards in this price range.

High-tech materials

This is naturally the case with the Anniversary Edition as well. The full-size platter is made of high-density polymer. The physical properties of the POM material used are similar to vinyl, thus being in perfect harmony with the record. The provided felt mat can therefore be used optionally. This is found in the proven direct drive motor with its impeccable synchronization and high torque. In addition to speeds of 33 and 45 r.p.m., the motor also has 78 r.p.m. for rare shellac records.

The casing is made of high-density MDF and can be perfectly adjusted with the height-adjustable feet. Weighing 11 kilograms, the MTT 990 demonstrates its exceptional construction in the special edition as well. The acrylic dust cover can be optionally installed – according to the user's preference.

High-quality tonearm and system

The special edition tonearm is the proven 10-inch J-shaped tonearm made from a special aluminum alloy. The shape offers the optimal angle for the lowest distortion, and the stainless steel bearings ensure optimal working conditions for the elliptical pickup. This comes from Audio Technica and is a VM520EB, which, as a dual moving magnet system, also makes absolute subtleties audible.

To visually manifest all these tonal details and of course to properly celebrate our anniversary, we gave the MTT 990 a glossy finish in “Anniversary Grey”. Additionally, the Limited Edition receives the “50 Years” logo.

Plinth

The plinth is made from "Medium Density Fibre," a material with excellent damping. The total weight of the MMT 990 is 10 kilograms. The 50th anniversary edition is sealed in a glossy gray metallic lacquer that has been sanded and polished multiple times.

Cartridge

The Audio Technica VM 520 EB (Magnat 50th anniversary edition) features a hardened aluminum cantilever, para toroid generator engine system, channel separation plate, and is constructed in a low-resonance polymer body. It adds excellent soundstage accuracy and perfect channel separation in sound performance.
