Ludwig van Beethoven composed his five great piano concertos over a span of twenty-five years. When the composer sold his first two piano concertos at the end of the 1800s, he mentioned that he had even "better" ones that he was currently keeping to himself until he went on tour. He likely meant a concert tour with the newly completed Third Piano Concerto in C minor, which is presented here in a piano reduction. The edition, according to Urtext quality, has been arranged for practical use and is based on Beethoven's Supplementary Edition, of which the original manuscript served as the source.
