It is the best lens for Sony. It has incredible sharpness, is lightweight, and has an aperture that remains clear and stable throughout the range. There's not much more to say. Search the internet and check its rating on the most well-known sites compared to lenses that cost 1500 - 2500 euros. For me, this lens should be priced above 1200 euros. Anyone who has this lens and has used it will tell you that they have never taken it off their camera for any reason.

Very slow autofocus both in video and in photography, generally an old technology lens, has mediocre sharpness, maybe it's because I have a high standard of comparison, specifically the Sony 90 f2.8 I had before, but the price difference is small. Unfortunately, I saw reviews here and bought it, it did not meet my expectations and what people were saying here. Terrible stabilizer, as if it wasn't working. Used for photography and video. The only positive is the color response

    XY-RAPID
For practical reasons, I always use a fixed aperture zoom (2.8).
With this specific prime lens, I find myself using it more and more, even though it makes me have to get closer or further away from the subject since it is fixed.

    Incredibly sharp
Unbelievable bokeh from wide open to 1.8
    Incredibly lightweight

For its price, it is value for money!
    It is worth every €

If one overlooks its salty price, it is a lens with character. This means that even its weaknesses look beautiful to the eye. It has the characteristic Zeiss pop in colors, silent operation, fast focusing, with exceptional sharpness that reaches its peak at f4, and unbelievable weather sealing (tested in the Arctic Circle and in rain). For portraits in any environment and weddings, if paired with an 85mm lens, it is the best option, it never misses. Chromatic and spherical aberration, if present, will not be noticeable, it is minimal. On the contrary, coma is strong at the edges in full frame and you have to reach f3.5 to fix it. Personally, I constantly use it for astrophotography (at f2.8) in panoramas where I can confidently crop the edges of the frame. I am one of those who would never want to sell it!
