This is the second Genius model that I have and I bought it because I was completely satisfied with the Genius SP-HF1250X, which have fewer watts and only two-way speakers. However, from the first moment I realized that the new, three-way and slightly more expensive speakers are somewhat inferior, especially when it comes to music. I don't know if it matters, but the thickness of the wood is now smaller. They are clearly weaker in volume and don't turn the room into a disco like the old ones. They also have a significant drawback in the performance of the mid-tones. So, while I never touched the mixer on the old speakers, now I boost the treble and lower the bass, so that the sound doesn't come out muffled in the mid-range, like the voices of the singers or the sound of the piano. These weaknesses do not make them an ideal choice for music, although I don't know what the performance of other speakers is at this price, which admittedly is not high. (Simply, my disappointment is mainly due to the comparison with the previous set of speakers from the same company. When I tried the Logitech speakers at the same price, I realized that the Logitech ones are completely for tone-deaf gamers.) These weaknesses are not noticeable if they are used for movies or video games. In these cases, neither crystal clear sound is desired nor deafening volume. I have comfortably and pleasantly watched several movies and the bass of the speakers is satisfactory, given that there is no subwoofer.

I come from Logitech z5500 (multimedia), Alesis mk2 (studio monitors), Jamo Monitors, and 2 home audio setups in the living room and bedroom consisting of technics and jbl speakers/amplifiers. I was looking for a pair of computer speakers without much power, as long as they have clear sound and of course bass. I borrowed these speakers from a friend, and I have to say the following. They have such a piercing bass that no matter how much you lower it, it continues to overshadow the other frequencies. From one-third and above, the polluted bass hits the walls fiercely, resulting in chaos. The sound sounds like it's coming out of a plastic bucket. I understand that those who praise them may not have heard serious sound, but I really can't hide that these bargains are of low-quality and transient. When you are looking for speakers, don't look at the watts or the value for money, look at the frequencies, the materials of the cabinet and speakers, the class of the amplifiers, etc. I give them 1 star only because I can't give zero. The only use I can imagine is for elderly people's televisions that turn up the volume to the maximum.
