The purpose of this study is to highlight the problems and dilemmas faced by Greece in its Eastern policy after World War II. It also aims to place Greek-Arab relations within the broader international and regional context.
To this end, Greece's pro-Arab policy and its outcomes are analyzed in detail; the international balance of power in the Near/Middle East and its effects on local developments; and the policy of regional states with significant geostrategic importance (Turkey, Israel, and Egypt), especially in relation to critical regional issues, such as Cyprus and Palestine.
