The elastic bandage is used as a means of immobilization in injuries or wounds of the skeletal and muscular system. It is also applied to exert pressure in cases of vascular diseases of the lower limbs, as per the recommendation of the attending physician. It is a basic product in surgery, made from polyester gauze or cotton, suitable for limbs, head, chest, or abdomen. Medical bandages help in proper wound temperature and moisture regulation, prevent complications, and reduce the risk of bacterial infection through absorption of bodily fluids.
