The Ugears Hogwarts Express wooden model represents the GWR 5972 Olton Hall steam locomotive as seen in the Harry Potter films. This working model consists of a spring-and-gear-powered locomotive, a coal tender, and a passenger carriage with three figures of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ronald Weasley. Using the special winding key, it travels in a straight line for up to 4 m with the carriages or up to 6 m as a locomotive alone, on a smooth, flat surface.

The set also includes a section of track and a Platform 9¾ buffer stop for display. The passenger carriage has three compartments, opening doors, and a removable roof, while the figures stand on bases that slide sideways as the train moves. Assembly requires no glue or special tools, and instructions are provided in 11 languages.
