The cinematic mist effect is created by the equal distribution of a fine black nano powder between two layers of optical glass, and then bonding them together. This filter is made from optical glass to maintain image detail, but the glass is not multicoated to provide enhanced flare. The slim aluminum frame can be used on wide-angle lenses without vignetting.
