I am a secondary school teacher and I use it daily at work. The back compartment has enough capacity for 2 A4-sized books, a tablet, a pencil case with pens, etc., extra pockets for equipment needed in class. In the large front compartment, you can fit an additional 3-4 large books or 2 food containers or a thick sweatshirt. The side pockets are also very helpful for putting a water bottle or coffee in a thermos! It is comfortable on the back.
