The Advance Acoustic A12 Classic preamplifier is a stereo amplifier with tube preamplification and a dual-mono design. Its two toroidal transformers power a Class A/B amplifier, delivering 2 x 190 W RMS into 8 Ω and 2 x 280 W RMS into 4 Ω. It features MM and MC Phono inputs, digital inputs, and a socket for an optional X-FTB01 or X-FTB02 Bluetooth dongle.

Pre-OUT outputs are available via XLR and RCA connections, and there are also two subwoofer outputs. Controls include bass, treble, balance, bypass, and a Hi Bias switch, while the volume is displayed on a VU meter.
