Inevitably, the research weight of this publishing work falls mainly on the explicit notice of the anonymous author 'simply with the phrase', meaning the linguistic substance of his endeavor. However, this literary weight or even bias not only does not undermine but rather reveals in its manner the purer theological value of the text, which, aside from the given and timeless prestige of the meeting of two 'greats', the biographer Great Athanasius and the biographed Great Anthony, with the mediation of the deliberately anonymous translator, stands as an eloquent witness of the thematic choices and the expressive modes of post-Byzantine hagiographical literature.
