It stands out for its remarkably compact size and light weight, making bulky traditional telephoto lenses a thing of the past. It features a silent, high-speed MSC autofocus system, ideal for continuously tracking action and recording clear HD video. Its specialized optical coating reduces unwanted reflections, delivering crystal-clear images of sports and wildlife.

Super-Telephoto Range of 75–300mm and 150–600mm Equivalent

The lens covers an impressive 75–300mm focal length range.
On a Micro Four Thirds (MFT) system, it delivers 150–600mm equivalent coverage in 35mm format.
It features powerful 4x optical zoom, bringing you remarkably close to any scene.
Capture very distant subjects with a simple turn of the ring.
It creates a sense of being right up close without needing to physically move closer.
It’s an excellent choice for wildlife, bird, sports, and outdoor action photography.

Extremely Compact 4.5" Body and Lightweight at 15 Ounces

Unlike bulky SLR super-telephoto lenses, it stands out for its exceptional portability.
Its length is just over 4.5 inches when collapsed for transport.
It weighs just 15 ounces (approximately 425 grams), making it comfortable to use handheld for extended periods.
A comparable 600mm lens for other systems weighs more than twice as much as a complete Olympus kit.
It delivers excellent ergonomics and balance when paired with lightweight mirrorless camera bodies.
It frees photographers from unnecessary weight on demanding hikes and outdoor excursions.

Advanced ZERO Optical Coating for Flare and Ghosting Reduction

All optical elements feature Olympus's advanced ZERO coating.
The Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical (ZERO) technology provides exceptional anti-reflective performance.
It effectively suppresses ghosting and flare in backlit conditions.
It ensures crystal-clear sharpness and high contrast, even when shooting into the sun.
It also offers increased durability on the lens surface, reducing wear and tear.
It guarantees images with rich saturation and natural rendering in harsh lighting conditions.

MSC Focusing Mechanism for Silent Video and Fast Burst Shooting

The lens is equipped with the exclusive Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) mechanism.
This technology delivers exceptionally fast and nearly silent autofocus (AF).
It uses a unique screw-drive mechanism for smooth, instant movement of the lens elements.
It prevents the recording of mechanical focusing or aperture sounds during HD video recording.
When recording video, only the scene’s natural ambient sound is captured.
It excels at tracking fast-moving action and shooting continuous bursts of photos.

ED Optical Elements and Circular Aperture for Smooth Bokeh

The internal optical design features ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements.
It significantly reduces the chromatic aberrations commonly seen at long telephoto focal lengths.
It incorporates a circular aperture diaphragm for smooth, even iris opening.
It creates beautiful, soft, natural-looking backgrounds (bokeh), cleanly isolating the subject.
It delivers high resolving power and sharpness throughout the zoom range.
It combines professional optical fidelity with ease of use in an exceptionally affordable super-telephoto package.

It does its job, don't expect anything serious, it's for your casual walk, ok. It is not heavy or big for its zoom. It doesn't have good autofocus, at long focal lengths it loses a lot. For bird photography it's a difficult case, also in bright spots. Since there is nothing better for its price, it's the only way.

Lightweight super telephoto lens, capable of very good results
Clearly improved compared to the first version
Very light for the range it offers, handles very easily even on small bodies like the E-M10
In combination with Olympus' excellent stabilizer, it can provide stable images at low shutter speeds (for example, I have taken shots at 300mm with a 1/60 second exposure), something that is very difficult to achieve with other systems
300mm is naturally the weakest focal length, but it is very good at 250mm (500mm effective), which is impressive on its own, while between 75-150mm it is a real razor even wide open

For the price, weight, and performance, it is the absolute value for money at the moment

I use this specific lens on an Olympus Omd Em10ii camera and I can say that it perfectly matches its small size.
The range of 75-300mm (35mm eq: 150-600) is more than satisfactory for someone who needs a telephoto lens for close-up portraits or capturing wildlife subjects, etc. Its positives include fast autofocus, silent AF motor, and its small size and weight as a telephoto lens. Its negatives could be its aperture (f4.8-6.7) as it is quite dark, and when you need to quickly capture moving subjects such as birds (where a speed of 1/2000 sec or higher is required), you need to take this into consideration because you need relatively good light. The lens does not exhibit chromatic aberrations, only minimal ones in the corners around 150mm, and I believe the color reproduction is perfect. As for distortion, I did not notice anything. Referring to its sharpness, I would say that throughout its focal length, I consider it to be quite good, with perhaps slightly softer points at 75mm f4.8 and 300mm f6.7. The highest sharpness is observed at f8 from 75-300mm.
In conclusion, I would like to give my overall opinion that this is a very affordable telephoto lens, well-built, and quite small and lightweight, but with performance that can rival other bulkier and more expensive constructions. For the money it's worth, I am very satisfied with its zoom and sharpness, and I believe each of you will be too.
