    Verified purchase

Very stable 4G connection at 4-5 km from the antenna in a remote area away from the city. Also, it works with 5G, but it is not available in our area. If an external antenna is used, then the quality and speed of the mobile network connection improve significantly, but the results were already satisfactory with the built-in antennas (~80 Mbps with 4G).

Several functions for site-to-site VPN. Remote control via Teltonika RMS network (with subscription, however). It also has a firewall, NAT, Dyndns, etc., as it runs a custom version of Linux with a web interface for management. It has enough memory space and processing power so that you can expand its capabilities by adding packages through the provided package manager.

The TRB500 is ideal in bridge mode as a backup network connection for the business (or home with demands, provided you have a separate WiFi router). It is designed for mobile network on one side and LAN with Ethernet connection on the other -- within these parameters, it does everything!

It is very good, especially if you add a 4x4 Mimo antenna to the SMA ports. It has many customization options, you can even define in which bands you want it to lock, BUT BE CAREFUL...
There is currently a glitch that has been present for quite some time, where a daemon occasionally crashes and sends all the traffic through the CPU. When this happens, the speed is capped at around 170Mbps. They say they are working on it, but still nothing. If it wasn't for this issue, it would automatically be a 5/5 rating.

Also, be aware that it does NOT have Wi-Fi. You will need to connect it to a router to have Wi-Fi.

"This is a known issue. The mechanism behind is that when the throughput gets more sessions than a certain number, a daemon, which is used to track connections forwards all the traffic through the CPU, instead of offloading it through a certain hardware block, thus speeds maxes out at around 200 Mbps.

The issue is being worked on, however the solution may take a while."

So be cautious when making a purchase.

    09/07/2023 Update:
After updating the modem and device firmware, the issue has significantly improved. Now, when there are many open threads, the cap at 200Mbps still exists, but it no longer requires a restart to recover. As soon as the threads decrease, it automatically returns to normal operation. (+1 star, once it is completely fixed, it will go to 5/5 stars)
