It is not suitable for microwave use, like almost all stainless steel containers, but the food does not have a plastic taste. It keeps the food warm from 6 in the morning until 12 when it is consumed (not hot, but warm enough that it doesn't need a microwave). The quantity of food is equivalent to a full plate approximately. Overall, it is worth its money.
