The THORENS TD 204 has been developed for the novice music enthusiast. A turntable with sound capabilities for demanding listeners. The black gloss and walnut gloss finish surfaces blend seamlessly into the existing range with the typical THORENS design. The brand identity is emphasized by the high-quality processing and guarantees long-lasting durability, like all Thorens turntables. The newly developed TP 120 tonearm impresses with its high-quality bearing technology. The bearing spacing and friction coefficients have been reduced to extremely low levels for this price range using modern bearings. The TP 120 is a true 9-inch J-shaped aluminum tonearm with an effective arm mass of 15 grams. The visual similarity to the larger TP 150 and TP 124 models is evident and promises first-class properties. The detachable headshell with SME connector is equipped with the AT95E from the Japanese turntable specialist Audio Technica. Skating compensation is done via a spring. The connection socket on the rear side features high-quality RCA sockets for a stable connection to the amplifier. An integrated MM preamplifier (which can be switched on/off) allows direct connection to a high-level input. The platter, which is precisely manufactured from cast aluminum, is driven by an accurate belt drive. The TD 204's chassis is supported by four vibration-absorbing feet.
