Description

Description

The struggle against the dictatorship of the colonels (1967-1974) was multifaceted. Many anti-dictatorial organizations turned to dynamic resistance, and the placement of low-power explosive devices became one of the most common forms of action against the regime. The choice of dynamic resistance was not linked to any specific political space but involved anti-dictatorial organizations from both the Center and the broader Left.

The dynamic resistance sparked intense discussions within the anti-dictatorial sphere regarding the potential for this form of action to ignite a mass anti-dictatorial movement in Greece, at the same time that, as a practice, it reflected the revolutionary turmoil that was prevalent across the world at that time.

The book focuses on this unknown aspect of the anti-dictatorial struggle. The phenomenon of dynamic resistance during the years of the dictatorship is approached from the perspective of the actions of the organizations and, primarily, from the viewpoint of those who participated in dynamic actions. Through written and oral testimonies, the trajectory of the resistors is reconstructed as subjects: their different biographical starting points, the radicalization of the 1960s, the turning point of the coup of April 21, their integration into anti-dictatorial organizations, and then their actions until the moment of their imprisonment.

In the book, the study of the experience of dynamic resistance and how it was later inscribed in the memory of the subjects intersects with the discussion of subjectivity, resistance, and political violence.
