Description

90 x 90° Silicone Combined Hybrid Tractrix Horn

Klipsch’s proprietary Tractrix geometry in the horn is specifically designed to efficiently deliver the tweeter’s high frequencies to the listener. This second-generation Tractrix horn is larger for better directivity and a wider overall sound field. The Tractrix horn achieves this level of sonic clarity and smooth frequency response in combination with a phase plug and a compressed molded silicone faceplate.

LTS Titanium Tweeter Diaphragm

Part of Klipsch’s Reference series, the LTS (Linear Travel Suspension) helps reduce distortion for more detailed sound reproduction.

Vented Tweeter Design

The tweeter housing on this pair of wall speakers clarifies the high-frequency signal by reducing standing waves that would generate unwanted harmonics.

Cerametallic Woofer

Another hallmark of Klipsch’s Reference Premiere speakers is the Cerametallic woofers. This wall speaker is equipped with a single 6.5" woofer and the Cerametallic construction keeps the weight light yet rigid to maximize acoustic performance and minimize distortion. The second-generation voice coil is 70% larger in diameter to ensure flawless reproduction with better power handling, cone control, and linearity.

Tractrix Ports

If you prefer deeper bass from your speakers, the built-in ports on the RP-600M II utilize Klipsch’s Tractrix geometry to produce clean and impactful low frequencies. The geometry allows air to exit quickly and efficiently from the speaker, while reducing port noise.

Bi-Wiring and Bi-Amping

Dual inputs on the back of each speaker allow you to bi-wire and bi-amp with additional (optional) cables.

Enhanced Input Panel

The RP-600M II features audiophile-grade wiring and easily accessible aluminum binding posts for any type of connection.

Build Quality

Klipsch uses high-quality MDF for a durable and attractive appearance. The ebony vinyl surface includes bases painted with a satin finish that have a scratch-resistant coating.

Magnetic Grille

You have the option to expose the woofer and tweeter in copper color or to cover them with a discreet speaker grille. The grille attaches magnetically to the front of the RP-600M II.

Cork Pads

Replacing standard rubber pads, cork pads protect the surfaces of a stand or table.

For every clueless person talking about horns, it's probably about their car... The only speakers from the company with horns are its last 3 most expensive ones, where the horn is the system used to reproduce high frequencies without the presence of a tweeter. All the other models have normal tweeters, which for marketing reasons LOOK like horns that everyone thinks are blasting in their ears!

    - They have the most lively and dynamic sound I’ve ever heard, with crisp details like the singer’s breath, the subtle noises from their mouth, and the crystal-clear strike of the guitar chord. It’s an unbelievable feeling, like the band is right in front of you, playing only for you.

    - Once you hear them in a well-treated room with top-notch AV gear, you’ll never want anything else. Just make sure they’re placed properly, away from the walls.

    - They play all kinds of music flawlessly and deliver impressive detail for home cinema as surrounds speakers too. These 2-in-1 speakers come at an affordable price with great value for money ratio. In the end, try them out at a Hi-Fi dealer and trust your ears and personal taste—that’s the golden rule before buying any kind of speaker.

This review is about the colour: Brown

Same horn as the 8000s I have. So the highs are open, airy, and 3D with excellent imaging.

In the lows, they have a 6-inch woofer that does what it can (also considering the limitation of the speaker’s cabinet). To be fair... Klipsch manages something strange... their woofers sound bigger than they are... so for a 6-inch, it sounds like an 8-inch, let’s say, and the two 8-inchers sound almost like a sub... Here, the R51s, if you set them up right, produce bass from I don’t know where...

Being spoiled by the two 8-inchers in my 8000s, the 600M II for a small bookshelf speaker is excellent. I got them for a second setup in my office, very elegant, beautiful (aesthetics are an important factor in a speaker... oh yes, I said it...)

    What to watch out for...
Tip 1. You have to appreciate the horn... listen to them somewhere BEFORE you buy... or at least listen to a Klipsch speaker at a friend’s place to understand how they sound... they render sound differently than a classic speaker... You either love it or you don’t. Let’s not argue... it’s a matter of taste.

Tip 2. Proper placement (which applies to all speakers but with Klipsch it’s even more important due to the horn’s directivity). They are projecting speakers, don’t shortchange them... give a LOT of attention to placement (distance from walls, between them, and toe-in if you want a more intense image at the tip of the triangle...). Room to room differs greatly. Yes, the speaker has a specific character but it sounds different from room to room, depending on what’s in the room. Generally, setup matters.

They are very capable like all Klipsch speakers, if you set them up right you won’t believe what you’re hearing. They sound like a much more expensive speaker.

Tip 3. They need good amplifiers... They’ll work with anything but because of the horn’s high sensitivity, a bad amp that hisses will be heard, while a good one won’t. Also, they need their watts... For example, the 8000s acoustically fill the room at about 1/3 volume... while the 600M II need more power... almost 2/3 volume to hear their character.

Tip 4. They are harsh at first, they need breaking in as expected... The edges will soften and they’ll become even more airy and melodic. Not that they didn’t sound quality from the first note but you’ll notice more quality characteristics day by day and after break-in a few weeks later... some say 100 hours.

Tip 5. If you put them close in nearfield for maximum imaging performance, you might need to soften the frequencies around 4k by 1-2db, so you don’t get fatigue after a while... This way you’ll keep dynamics, punch, air, highs, lows, imaging without fatigue. Features that in other speakers you’d have to pay much more for.

    Enjoy!

What can I say about these little monsters, unpolished yet I think I've just discovered the sound, a change from the already perfect Klipsch R-51M, and a shock in all listening experiences with these beasts!!!!!

The truth is that as a newcomer in the field, I have no comparisons between hifi speakers. I got the Mark 2 with a leap of faith since I couldn't listen live, living on an island. However, I will have the courage to give 5 stars even though I believe they are still a bit pricey at 650 euros. The music they offer you is something else, though, man, a cultural shock; they fortunately deliver what I expected. The sound is like being 85-90% at a concert with the artists, drums, bass where they should be, just right - violins come alive, you almost don't recognize well-played pieces that you've heard on other (simple) systems. Musical shock! Yes, I think they are more alive than others (from what I hear in YouTube comparisons), but that's exactly what I want.
P.S. I have no opinion on how loud they can play; I think at full volume there might be some distortion, which is reasonable for a bookshelf speaker.
    P.S. 2 they are beautiful

Get these speakers if your budget goes up to 700 euros and you will not be disappointed. Honestly. They definitely need some breaking in (about 100 hours), but this is normal. Clean tight bass, impeccable highs and mids. The lows are unbelievable, solid and voluminous. Of course, you need a good amplifier + turntable + cartridge as well. They truly deliver sound quality three times their price. They were chosen among polka audio-elac-kef350 because they had liveliness - detail and rich sound. Also, we are talking about many music genres. From free jazz & ambient to electroacoustics Xenakis & doom/drone. Also, do not listen to opinions like "their horns are tiring", not at all!!! They are great. You will enjoy them forever. Thank you Klipsch.

Temporarily replacing a pair of FOCAL 726 columns until the corresponding ones from the ARIA series of FOCAL are purchased at some point. They are driven by an amazing amplifier from CAMBRIDGE AUDIO. I never expected such high-quality and full sound, such musicality, and noteworthy is that the cables (very important)... are in the range of 6-7€ per meter. The speakers are not just playing, they easily fill a 45sqm space, even if you want to turn up to very high levels. No trace of distortion, tight bass, very clear voices, and incredible clarity in the high frequencies despite the speakers being floor-standing. A big bravo to the American Company that manages to deliver such great sound from speakers with reasonable cost!

Also, we are talking about many music genres. From free jazz & ambient to electroacoustics Xenakis & doom/drone. Also, do not listen to opinions like "their horns are tiring", not at all!!! They are great. You will enjoy them forever. Thank you Klipsch.

This review is about the colour: Brown

  • For every clueless person talking about horns, it's probably about their car... The only speakers from the company with horns are its last 3 most expensive ones, where the horn is the system used to reproduce high frequencies without the presence of a tweeter. All the other models have normal tweeters, which for marketing reasons LOOK like horns that everyone thinks are blasting in their ears!

  • - They have the most lively and dynamic sound I’ve ever heard, with crisp details like the singer’s breath, the subtle noises from their mouth, and the crystal-clear strike of the guitar chord.

Happy Greek owner of Klipsch Reference Premiere 2 series for 4 years and go on..

  • Same horn as the 8000s I have.

    Enjoy!

  • What can I say about these little monsters, unpolished yet I think I've just discovered the sound, a change from the already perfect Klipsch R-51M, and a shock in all listening experiences with these beasts!!!!!

  • The truth is that as a newcomer in the field, I have no comparisons between hifi speakers.
