ΝΑΙ. Η σκακιέρα 40Χ40 θέλει πιόνια ύψους 7,6-7,8. Ακόμη και τα 8,6-8,8 ταιριάζουν καλούτσικα. Οτιδήποτε μεγαλύτερο είναι υπερβολικό. Η σκακιέρα θα δείχνει "συνωστισμό". (Οταν λέμε "ύψος πιονιών" εννοούμε το ύψος του Βασιλιά, που είναι το ψηλότερο κομμάτι.)
