  • Crystal clear and powerful sound!!! Its only drawback is that it makes a bit more noise when in operation!!!! If you are close to it and at low volume, the music sounds a bit thin!!! Otherwise, it's worth every penny!!!!

So, an amplifier for 130€, 5 channels with many functions, lots of controls, lights, SC sticks, internet, radio, etc. Don’t expect to hear any Tsakiridis or Rotel. BUT! With a pair of bookshelf speakers costing 100-200€, you’ll hear much higher quality sound than most PC speakers out there. Now, as for specs like THD, Impedance, S n/r and other characteristics, I couldn’t find them anywhere I looked. My tests:
I’m not interested in 5.1 or 7.1 sound, so I only tried stereo and active subwoofer.
Sound cards: the one integrated on the motherboard and a Soundblaster XAE-5 plus. Of course, I used very good speakers because I had them from a home cinema I no longer use. Jamo 120 surround, 3-way dipoles, used as main L-R. Active subwoofer Rel Strata II. Good and expensive speakers in their time.
I listened to many types of music, speeches, natural and technical sounds, movies, games. I was never disappointed. Clear and full sound at all frequencies. I’ve spent quite a bit on PC speakers, but I’ve never heard this sound quality, at least from speakers up to 600€ that I’ve tried.
The little amp will do just fine with two 2-way 8Ω speakers that are easy to drive (forget 4Ω, they’re tricky, need a lot of power and beefy amps). Of course, if the bass/treble controls are maxed out and the volume is above 70-80%, it starts to distort and possibly clip. But we want to hear sound, not noise. For me, it’s worth the 130€, both for its features and the sound quality it gives.
I’m coming back after about a year. It was also tested on a friend’s PC with different speakers. As for the sound, same story. For a “heavy-duty” Home Cinema, for me, no. But for a PC with two decent speakers, it gives great sound.
Problems it showed: It has an 80x80 mm fan, which from the start made an annoying noise. For example, my PC has six 140mm fans, plus two on the heatsink, plus three on the graphics card, plus one in the power supply, and the amp’s fan is three times noisier. So I bought a commercial one and replaced it. It’s easy. You remove the cover, the fan is mounted with two screws on the chassis and a plug on the board. Just like PC fans. When I told the store where I bought it, they said to send it back right away so they could replace the fan and not void the warranty. I didn’t bother with the hassle and cost. Another problem: with repeated plugging/unplugging of the speaker cables (RCA bananas), the sockets got a bit loose and don’t make good contact. Luckily, it also takes bare wires. So that problem was fixed too. How long will it last? We’ll see!
