Angeliki Pilali-Pasteriou taught prehistoric archaeology at A.P.Th. for about thirty years. Hundreds of students attended her lectures in university halls and excavations. When she passed away prematurely in the autumn of 2007, she was still an active and prominent member of the academic community.
The volume includes 17 studies, which cover a wide range of Greek prehistoric archaeology: a significant part of the book is occupied by studies on prehistoric Macedonia, for which the honored had developed significant scientific activity. Also included are studies on the Cyclades, Crete, and the Minoan world, areas that are also among Papasteriou's scientific interests. Finally, since Papasteriou was one of the first Greek archaeologists, studies were undertaken on theoretical issues of Aegean prehistory, and the volume includes studies that offer contemporary perspectives on the theoretical approaches of archaeology.
