  • Usage

    NAS

Disks for use in NAS (Network-Attached Storage) systems that provide access to data from all devices on a network. They are designed for continuous operation with other such disks in RAID configurations to protect data from failures.

  • Communication Protocol

Hard drives communicate with the computer through a protocol.

There are two protocols for HDD hard drives, SATA (for simple use) and SAS (high reliability for corporate use).

    SATA III

A modern hard disk connection standard that offers twice the maximum speed compared to SATA II.

The majority of hard disks use this standard.

The motherboard must support it for the disk to operate at its maximum potential.

  • Cache Size

Intermediate temporary memory between the disk and the computer, allowing the hard disk to provide faster and more immediate access to data. It does not have any particular benefit for the average user.

  • Form Factor

The size of the HDD hard drive.

    3.5

The classic size of a desktop computer hard disk drive (HDD).

  • Rotation Speed

The most important feature along with capacity is that the faster the rotation speed of a hard disk, the faster the access and storage of data it can provide.

    7200

The most popular HDD hard drives, about 33% faster than 5400. Suitable for all uses such as installing programs and games. For installing the operating system, programs, and games, SSD are even faster and remain the best choice.

Description

Redesigning the HDD Hard Drive to Meet the Data Surge
Global-scale cloud, cloud solution providers, enterprises, smart video surveillance partners, NAS providers, and even more essential storage solutions to meet the exponential increase in data creation. Hard Disk Drives (HDD) continue to play a central role in cost-effective large-scale data storage. HDD hard drives provide the capacity, performance, and reliability needed today and will be required in the distant future for storing large volumes of data. Investments in HDD hard drive technology remain crucial to support the global data increase.

Western Digital has created flash-optimized drives with OptiNAND™ technology, vertically integrating pioneering NAND flash memories into world-class HDD hard drives. Western Digital's HDD hard drives lead in space density with industry-leading technologies such as Energy-Assisted Magnetic Recording (EAMR), Triple Stage Actuator (TSA), HelioSeal®, and now OptiNAND technology. Higher space density means larger capacities to meet storage challenges.

HDD Hard Drives 20 TB1 with OptiNAND Technology

OptiNAND technology integrates an iNAND® Universal Flash Storage (UFS) Embedded Flash Drive (EFD) module into the traditional spinning disk, along with innovative changes to the firmware algorithm and system-on-chip (SoC). OptiNAND is not a hybrid technology. The drive operates more intelligently with optimized firmware algorithms that benefit from the large volumes of metadata transferred to the iNAND module, providing more tracks per inch (TPI) resulting in increased space density.

A monster capable of storing your entire life, works wonderfully without any problems, just like my other WD-SN850-500GB-M2, WD-HC550-18TB, WD Gold 10TB drives. I highly recommend it
