The Samyang Reflex f/6.3 300mm ED UMC CS lens is a new compact mirror lens.
The optical structure includes 9 elements in 6 groups, including an ED-type lens for high contrast and reduction of chromatic aberrations. The UMC Multicoated optics help reduce ghosting and reflections.
Its compact design, with dimensions of 73.7 x 64.5 mm and a weight of approximately 320g, makes it ideal for a long telephoto lens for compact systems / mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras.
The Samyang 300mm f/6.3 ED UMC CS Reflex Mirror Lens is manual, with smooth manual focusing. Due to the very narrow depth of field with such a long focal length, focusing via live-view is recommended for achieving precise focus where possible. As with all long telephoto lenses, it is recommended to use stable camera support / a sturdy tripod, good technique, fast shutter speed, and the use of remote / mirror lock-up to avoid camera shake and achieve the best results.
It accepts 58mm diameter filters at the front, or 25.5mm (rear). It comes with front and rear lens caps, and a lens pouch.
