This book presents the excavation research conducted by German archaeologists Rudolf Stampfuss and Elisabeth Schmid, which took place in the mid-20th century at the Seydi rock shelter of Aliartos, confirming habitation from the Upper Paleolithic.

This revelation proved to be of fundamental importance, as it fundamentally changed the map of Greece, which until then had appeared without any record of Paleolithic sites.

At the same time, there is a broader overview of the prehistoric culture of Boeotia during the Stone Age, and the most significant findings are presented, which also provide a glimpse into the lifestyle and living conditions of prehistoric inhabitants.
