Fury Unleashed has a comic book theme similar to Comix Zone, but it plays more like an exploration-based Contra. One or two players will explore vast random levels, navigate large rooms, search for upgrades, and fight against huge bosses. In addition to upgrading the character and arsenal, players can also try to maintain long combos to score crazy points. Roguelike elements ensure that each playthrough is different, but also that players become a little stronger each time.
