Description

Description

The teaching of Mathematics in Elementary School lays the foundations of logical thinking for children and provides a good opportunity to cultivate their innate curiosity and desire for exploration. For various reasons, the end of Primary Education finds many students having lost interest in Mathematics and identifying it with algorithms they simply have to memorize or with mundane, pseudo-real problems that have a predetermined solution.

Students have not learned to ask "why" and seek explanations for all that they are taught, and this attitude often persists in the following years of their education. Teachers, Mathematics instructors, and parents want to help them, but often lack the appropriate tools (of thought).

This book was written as a "survival guide" to the difficulties one may encounter when trying to explain what lies behind concepts and processes in very simple terms and with many examples. It was written to offer simple explanations, but also to pique the interest of those students who enjoy mathematical challenges with some higher-level problems. It was written to help educators deeply understand the Mathematics they teach, so they can then offer their students the joy of creation.
