The texts of the book discuss issues of recording, documentation, and analysis of empirical social research data against the background of the multiple opportunities provided by the establishment of research infrastructures in the social sciences, with a particular emphasis on the possibility of reusing and conducting secondary analysis of social data, as well as the epistemological, methodological, institutional, and ethical issues raised by this research perspective.
Moreover, interesting issues that arise during the management and analysis of specific types of data - audiovisual documents and films, publications in the press, and 'narratives' produced in the media - are highlighted, and the possibilities offered by the establishment of organized research infrastructures and archives in comparative political sociology, the study of protest events, as well as in historical research are discussed.
