Description & Specifications

The blessed Joseph the Hesychast, also known as the Cavern-Dweller, was born on the island of Paros. He was born in the beautiful village of Lefkes, nurtured by the streams of his father's piety, and immersed in the waters of local kindness and holiness.

He matured in the bustling capital of Greece, from where he flew to Mount Athos to encounter in its caves what his heart longed for: the Lord Jesus Christ, to unite with Him and fill his existence.

Literally, his heart was filled with Christ and overflowed, and from that overflow, his thirsty disciples, who had rushed to him and surrendered their will to his holiness, were watered and satisfied.

(from the preface by Archimandrite Chrysostom, abbot of the Holy Monastery of the Life-Giving Spring of Loggavardas, Paros)
