Personally, I am in love with foldable phones since the beginning of the Fold 3. However, the width of the external screen bothered me, so I switched back to the S23 Ultra. A while ago, though, I couldn't resist and transitioned back to the Fold 4. I won't leave a review for the device itself, as we all roughly know what it does and what it doesn't. Where its strengths lie and where it falls short. I would like to leave the review for Samsung's service because I read very bad comments about it. So, I took the Fold 4 to have the screen protector changed on the large screen, since it is under warranty (one change per device). There, they noticed some vertical scratches where the large screen folds; I had seen them too but hadn't paid much attention. Instead of a screen protector, they suggested a screen replacement under warranty. When I asked if they replace the screen for the scratches or if there would be a problem, they replied that there wouldn't be a problem, but if I wanted, they could change it for me. (Which I didn't really believe.) They returned my device after two days with the large screen replaced, a new battery (because it comes as a package with the screen - OK, I didn't know that), and the external screen replaced because something "happened" in the service. Of course, I will continue to be a Samsung customer after this little story, and I felt that I should write my positive comments amidst so many negative ones, based on my own experience.

Stay away from SAMSUNG, at 14 months when I opened the screen it turned completely black. I went to an authorized service center and they took a magnifying glass and examined it closely. They found discoloration in the corner under the hinge where the Samsung case ends, due to use because I carry it in my bag, which is difficult to see. They took photos and sent them to the company, who of course refused to fix it because they claim it has been dropped and has impact damage. According to the laws of physics and gravity, if it had fallen, the hinge would have been hit first, not the bottom part of the hinge. I asked the company to let me bring it there for them to see it up close or to reevaluate it, but they wouldn't listen. It's the same story all the time, it's impact damage, it's impact damage. From what I read on forums, it's a common tactic for flip and fold phones to not recognize the damage because replacing the screen is expensive, around 600 euros. If you want to buy it, know that you won't have a warranty and of course no customer support. THE MOST WASTED MONEY I HAVE EVER SPENT.

I bought the Fold 4 a few months ago and I can say that I am satisfied. You open the screen and it's a small nice tablet that you want to constantly find things to do with to make the most of it. The Fold is (for me personally) the future of phones as, after a few months of use, I find no reason to go back to a conventional one because I would automatically have a much inferior user experience/features.

As for the negatives, I would mention:
1. The size of the external screen as it is elongated, which disappointed me and with the Fold 5, which is exactly the same. If the Fold 5 had the size of the Huawei Mate Xfold 3, we would be talking about the ultimate phone on the market.
2. Its resale value as we see depreciation a few months after it has been released, which you might consider a good deal at 1400, but within just 8 months its value is around 850 (in case you want to sell it immediately and not just look at it on the marketplace).

Overall, I am satisfied and I definitely recommend it without reservation.

After two years of use: The hinge of the phone breaks after 1.5 years and it is not covered by the warranty, and even worse, the internal screen breaks in almost all phones in less than two years. Everything starts after the warranty has expired. The cost for replacing the internal screen is around 400 euros. Disappointment

I was a loyal customer of Samsung for years, but this particular phone is a complete disappointment. While the foldable screen is very convenient, unfortunately, it is of poor quality. It constantly cracks at the folding point, and the tragic thing is that Samsung is looking for excuses to avoid replacing it!!! The first time it was replaced within the warranty. The second time - 11 months after the purchase - they refused to replace the cracked screen again, citing cheap and baseless excuses!!! And the tragic thing is that Samsung, without even inspecting the phone, gives the same baseless excuses as their official service. Unfortunately, it is obvious that Samsung itself has given such instructions to pretend to have baseless excuses and reasons for non-replacement. Stay away from Z-Fold phones, guys - the warranty does not apply!!! They are looking for excuses to avoid replacing it!!! Unfortunately, with their cheap behavior, they managed to turn a loyal Samsung fan with over 80 devices for personal and professional use (including mobile phones, tablets, and TVs) into someone who now hates the company!! Stay away from SAMSUNG - they don't deserve a single cent from you!!!

Flawless in every way. A huge change from a classic phone. I don't think I'll ever go back to a classic phone again. Fast beyond expectations, amazing external screen, huge and very vibrant internal screen. Memory that never runs out no matter what you do. It takes time to understand its capabilities. A professional tool that combines mobile and tablet. An example of everyday use is leaving it next to the computer screen open with the Samsung case tilted to the left running Teams and emails on the right or any other combination of two or three applications you want. One negative aspect that you can overcome is its weight and you can't use it without a case from day one. Having a mobile phone in your pocket is a habit you should probably forget.
Update 9/12: I also bought the Samsung Car Mount EP-H5300CBE, which allows you to have your phone open on the mount and use Google Maps. I think the combination is very good and I'm letting you know.
After upgrading to Android 13 last week, everything continues to work perfectly.
Also, after trying various chargers, I concluded that the Samsung factory 25W charger is the best choice for charging.

Stuck with the Note series for years, I decided to try the Fold 4. The user experience is something different that I liked. You change levels from 'conventional' devices but that's a matter of taste. Some like it, some don't. Both screens are amazing, incredible sound, good rear camera, but the front one for selfies is a bit disappointing for the cost of this device. Easy to use, many extra screen features when unfolded, flawless multitasking, very fast in whatever it runs, and finally a phone that helps you in a professional level as it becomes a mini tablet and upgrades the workspace surface. Its cost is very high and the outrageous thing is that it doesn't come with a charger, headphones, and a pen. Its packaging only includes the phone, a USB type C cable, and the pin to remove the card slot cover. Simply unacceptable. At this price, it should have included the new Samsung Buds Pro as a gift (without exaggeration). Here, it's not Samsung's fault, it's all of us who support it. Another negative is its battery. With full use, calls, GPS, emails, and some browsing, it doesn't last the day, but when I say full use, I mean it. I have no opinion on gaming. Of course, if it falls when unfolded, things become very difficult even with a good case. I give it 5 stars because I like this experience and I don't think I'll go back to a 'conventional' device, but as I said before, it's purely subjective. Another negative is the lack of an SD card. Just because we pay for a device doesn't mean we automatically want to pay for cloud storage. I put the negatives aside because I have to justify the money I spent, but again, it's subjective. Before you buy it, see it in a store, play with it a bit, and then proceed with the purchase. Keep in mind that for a good case, consider an extra 60 (obviously not the Samsung case that leaves the back of the device uncovered, if it falls there, it will leave a mark and it's a shame), plus the cost for the pen and the charger if you don't have one. Enjoy to whoever decides to get it.

7/5/24 I come with an update of the review. At 17 months, the internal membrane of the large screen started to detach, resulting in the screen turning black and not working at all, it didn't even have touch, it was like the screen was burnt. I took it to Samsung, waited a day for the repair to be approved and everything was okay. They fixed it and even changed the battery on their own (at least that's what the papers I received say). At first, they told me they would check the device for any hits and that if it had even scratches, there would be a problem. Fortunately, the device has been with a serious Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro with S-Pen Holder 360 Full Cover case from day one and the device is fully protected. Of course, I was adamant that the device not only wasn't hit but didn't have the slightest mark, and they checked it in front of me. To give you an idea, they tried to remove the case and couldn't, so they asked me to remove it in front of them. Fortunately, everything is fine, but what will happen in 1-1.5 years? It's an incredible device, but if this screen issue isn't fixed, it's not worth the trouble or the money. Personally, it's my professional phone and I have no desire to live in such situations. Unfortunately, I'm running to a non-foldable device. Now with friends who have faced issues with the company, it is true. If the device has even small signs (scratches, etc.), the situation becomes unpleasant. Of course, I will change my evaluation even though my own adventure had a happy ending, not for Samsung's service but for the device's unreliability. Such an expensive device with an expiration date is simply unacceptable. Even if it is repaired within the warranty, you know that in 1-1.5 years you will have the same issues again. It's a shame because I found a phone that covers me 100% and fits my taste, but more importantly my needs. For as long as it works, it is perfect, but too much money for this kind of unreliability.

I didn't buy it through Scroutz because I was in a hurry...I had to go to Android because of a medical app from my iPhone 11 Pro, and I decided to get one of the supposedly best Android phones available. I bought it for €1420 and after two days I realized that if someone buys a Samsung for over €150-200, it's not worth it at all.
How many steps does it take to make a call on recent iOS and how many on Samsung..
While the screen is in a dark room with low lighting, when you pick it up to open it at night it opens in high brightness and when you unlock it, it lowers...meaning stupid things
The big middle screen is impressive but in quality, for example on YouTube, it's somewhat blurry with mediocre image quality possibly due to the coatings
The indentation in the middle Yes, it's visible, don't listen to YouTube testers-advertisers
Oh, I forgot the smoothness of the 120hz screens... Ha ha. Compared to the previous 11 Pro's 60hz, it's unacceptable and bad
The cameras are okay, this was mentioned in the testers-advertisers' tests, but they're even worse, basically unacceptable for a €1500 phone
Multitasking, yes, that's very good but you have a huge screen
The external screen doesn't fit the narrow keyboard size
Now let's talk about the Cosmote phone signal, I have two cards for the same number so I compared the old iPhone 11 Pro with the fold, it's unbelievably worse and disappointing.
There's no case to protect it, for example in the summer on the beach with the sand...what do you do then?
And many more. Many compromises and an Android software that's annoyingly bad.
Believe me, iPhones are great phones, they're not worth more than €300. For Android, with a reservation for the Pixels which are of course misshapen and I don't think they come to Greece
Do yourself a favor and if you want to spend money, just get an iPhone.
