The edition includes condensed knowledge about modern ultrasonography, presented in an easily understandable way from the perspective of the clinical obstetrician-gynecologist. It provides instructions on utilizing the ultrasound device in an outpatient setting. The aim is to bridge the knowledge gap between the specialized obstetrician-gynecologist and those who are beginning to train in the application and utilization of ultrasound. The seventeen chapters of the book are divided into two main sections. The first three introductory chapters discuss the history of ultrasound and Doppler, the basic knowledge of ultrasound and Doppler physics, and the safety of ultrasound. Following that, Part A titled "Ultrasonography in Obstetrics" includes the basic principles governing ultrasound in obstetrics and discusses in detail ultrasound throughout the various weeks of pregnancy, as well as ultrasound during labor and postpartum. In Part B "Ultrasonography in Gynecology," the basic principles of ultrasound in gynecology are described, with ultrasound findings from the endometrium, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, the Douglas space, and the pelvis. Both parts utilize scientific data as well as the author's personal experience from the application of ultrasound in clinical practice. The photographic material of the book includes 1800 ultrasound images and 60 diagrams, and the cases presented come from the author's personal archive.
