When the god Dionysus told Midas that he could grant him a wish, he, being greedy as he was, asked to turn everything he touched into gold. His wish came true. Everything he touched became gold: the flowers, the trees, the gates of the palace, even people. But was such a gift more of a curse than a blessing?
