This particular high-pressure sodium lamp claims to have an average lifespan of 40,000 hours, which for such a lamp at this price seems a bit unlikely to me, however I can't confirm if it really lasts that long; for now, it works fine and is used for nighttime yard lighting with the characteristic yellow-orange light we used to see mainly in streetlights in the past. For 70W + 10 to 14W ballast losses, it totals about 80-85W and lights up strongly. With a good floodlight, it easily covers an area of 60 sq.m., but when the lamp approaches the end of its life, there will be a slight decrease in brightness by about 15-20%, maybe even a bit more in some cases, and if it starts turning on and off by itself, the lamp definitely needs replacing as this is a sign it has reached the end of its life!

Also, this particular one has been operating daily for an average of 6 hours for about 8 months now and so far it works perfectly! I will revisit this part later, for now it works just fine! Usually, however, high-pressure sodium lamps have an average lifespan of 25,000-30,000 hours and last 7-10 years when left on all night
