The Garmin inReach Mini 2 satellite communicator supports two-way messaging and location sharing via the global Iridium® satellite network, even outside mobile phone coverage. In an emergency, it lets you send an interactive SOS alert to Garmin Response, an emergency coordination center staffed 24 hours a day. TracBack® guides you back to your starting point along the same route, while the digital compass provides heading information even when the device is stationary.

The device has a rechargeable lithium battery and supports up to 14 days of operation with a 10-minute tracking interval, or up to 30 days with a 30-minute interval. It syncs with the Garmin Explore website and app for navigation and managing waypoints, activities, and trips, as well as with the Garmin Messenger app for messaging and group chats. It is compatible with the Garmin Pilot app and can be remotely controlled from compatible Garmin devices.
