Features

The decowax is a wax that can be used for the maintenance and protection of wooden surfaces.

It is manufactured using traditional methods based on a proven recipe that is 60 years old. The interaction of pure turpentine, natural wax, and carnauba wax creates a natural shine, structure, and color performance. It provides a protective layer and smooths out minor imperfections. This makes this wax extremely suitable for the maintenance of furniture and floors or as a protective top layer over chalk paint. Applying this wax offers a beautiful sheen and removes surface marks and scratches.

It can be used to tone down bright colors and to apply an antique patina. Additionally, the wax can be used to give unfinished wood a unique coloring effect.

Substrate

It adheres to a porous substrate, such as raw wood or a layer of porous paint, such as chalk paint. Before applying Decowax, a smooth layer of lacquer should be removed. Wood is a natural product, and results and color may vary depending on the substrate.

Application

• Apply Decowax using a brush, sponge, or lint-free cloth. A brush can be convenient for carvings or textured surfaces.
• Evenly spread the wax over the surface, and after fifteen to thirty minutes, wipe off the excess wax with a cloth, leaving only a thin, even layer. This allows the wax to soak into the substrate.
• Let the remaining wax soak and harden overnight, then buff the wax layer firmly. With polishing, the wax layer becomes smooth, strong, and hard, achieving a soft sheen.

Finish

A layer of wax does not require further finishing. However, it should be reapplied from time to time, and ongoing maintenance with wax should continue. The wax layer can be easily reapplied, either entirely or locally.

Depending on the substrate and the application method, coverage is approximately 6 m2 per box.
