The metallic ACCU-ND coating on PROND filters prevents color shift when switching from one denser filter to another. This resolves a common issue found in other series of neutral density filters. PROND filters exclusively use Hoya optical glass with a metallic ACCU-ND coating to create neutral density.
Neutral filters are designed to reduce the amount of light entering the camera lens and do not affect the image. The reduction of light allows for the use of wider apertures or slower shutter speeds for creative effects in bright lighting conditions.
The PROND16 provides 4 stops of light reduction, equivalent to 1.2 optical density ND.
