  • A first evaluation after checking the tent and before setting it up for the first time.
It looks excellent and at a good price.
    I recommend it.
But why 3 and not 5 stars?
Because the tent is different from the photos on Skroutz!
It is different even from the photo on the tent bag!!!!!
To be honest, I was expecting something like this and I was prepared, since the description was all over the place. Especially regarding the dimensions.
But still, it is not easy to swallow.
    1. The interior of the tent I received is black and not white fabric as shown in the photos. It is tolerable only for someone who wants to use a flashlight even at noon.
    2. The tent I received does not have mesh windows on the vestibule doors. Better, but still, the photos show them. Someone may want them.
    3. The tent I received does not have a place for a tension cord on the lower side of the cover. In some of the photos it clearly seems to have one. This is a problem. The inside will stick to the outside and ventilation will be reduced. I will have to take it to the cobbler to have two loops sewn on.
I will think about whether I will keep it.

    Edit
In the end I returned it. The problem of the black blackout fabric was insurmountable for the other user of the tent.
    A few final comments.
On Skroutz a second listing appeared for the black Dorset 4.
Nevertheless, be very careful, especially if you do not want the black one. I called all the stores listed on Skroutz as selling the white one, and all but one had only the black one. The one that had the white one appears on Skroutz as selling the black one. It had one last piece left from last year and did not have the black one at all.
The problem starts with the distributor, who sells 2 different tents with the same name and the same code.
And with a photo of the white one on the bag of the black tent.
Everyone told me that the white one is not being produced this year.
As for the black one, and although I was forced to return it, I personally recommend it.
Its very big advantage is the third small pole that goes under the awning and creates much larger vestibules.
The black color is irrelevant for some, but for me it was an insurmountable drawback.
The black one does not have windows - mesh on the cover in the vestibules. In my opinion, better.
The black one does not have a place for a tension cord on the side below, in the middle of the cover. Whereas the white one does. It is the only important drawback I found. If I had kept it, I would definitely have gone to the cobbler to sew on 2 straps.

  • I had it for 6-7 years and I can say that it is good for two people and suitcases. It is fine in the rain, it doesn't get wet, although you might feel a little damp. Overall, it is quite good

What does the waterproof rating on camping tents indicate?

Waterproofing in a tent indicates how much water the outer fabric can repel. It is measured in millimeters (mm) and refers to how many millimeters of a vertical water column (and thus pressure) a square centimeter of fabric can withstand without being penetrated by water.

The higher the degree of waterproofing, the less breathable the fabric is, and therefore the warmer the tent. Common waterproofing values range from 500mm to 10000mm. Theoretically, any fabric with waterproofing >1000mm is considered waterproof. For example, a summer tent may have waterproofing from 500 to 1500mm.

What does the feature Polyester 190T mean?

T means Thread, that is fiber, and the number reveals the sum of the vertical and horizontal fibers in a square inch of fabric (see photo). The larger the Thread, the denser the weave and the greater the durability of the fabric.
