Capacitive sensors are used in machine systems and equipment for monitoring movement without contact. They consist of two coaxial electrodes, a capacitor, and an RC generator. This type of sensor responds to both metallic and non-metallic objects, as the transmission distance for non-metallic objects depends on their dielectric constants. They allow for the speed adjustment of distance for non-magnetic conductive materials. They are developed based on PNP and NPN transition.
They feature a metal cylindrical housing that is vibration-resistant and a plastic cover that is resistant to oil and water.
