Metallic and heavy (with both positive and negative aspects). The base is separate and the lid simply sits on top. It is quite large in size, comfortably fitting a cardboard box with tissues. The opening at the top is very big, resulting in the box being visible if loose tissues are not placed inside. The finish of the paint could be smoother in texture.
