  • Speeds

    Select based on the number of gears on your bike's rear cassette. An 11-speed drivetrain may not be compatible with a 6-speed system and vice versa.

  • Mount

    To choose based on mounting type, check how your old derailleur is attached to the bicycle frame. Rear derailleurs may have Standard or Direct Mount types, while front derailleurs may have Clamp-on, Braze-on, or Direct Mount types.

    Direct Mount

    For Rear Derailleurs, it screws directly onto the frame (common in newer Shimano models), while for Front Derailleurs, it uses special mounting brackets that screw directly onto the frame.

  • Cage Length

    The cage length determines how much "excess" chain the derailleur can take up, depending on your gears.

    Long (SGS)

    Necessary for mountain bikes (MTB) with very large cassettes (e.g. 11-42T, 10-51T) or for systems with 3 front chainrings.
