Based on the engine of Call of Duty 4, the new title Call of Duty: World at War places players in the ruthless and gritty chaos of World War II.

The game challenges players to move with their unit to survive the most torturous and climactic battles of World War II that led to the failure and destruction of the Axis forces on the fronts of Europe and the South Pacific. The title redefines WWII games by offering an unlimited experience, with unique enemies and a wide variety of battles and actions such as: Kamikaze fighters, dangerous ambushes, Banzai charges, effective cover tactics, as well as explosive on-screen action through a new co-operative gameplay mode.
